Suil Eile

The Suil Eile , Bénéteau Océanis 37

The Suil Eile is our main sailing yacht. She is 37 feet long or just 12 meters  with 6 berths ( beds) .

She was made in France into 2008 and has spend most of her life sailing off the shores of Galway .

For day sailing she is able to take up to 10 people and for overnight trip she can take 6 people

She is an ideal boat to sail on because of  her single keel she both fast and safe .

Cockpit

Rigging & Sails

  • Running rigging comprises:
    • 1 mainsail halyard.
    • 1 genoa halyard with jammer and cleat at mast.

  • 1 two-door cupboard to starboard (hanging and shelved).

  • 1 hanging locker.
  • Openings and lighting:
    • 1 opening port on coaming (304 x 156) with curtain.
    • 1 opening port on cockpit backrest (304 x 156) with curtain.
    • 1 deckhead light and 2 strip lights to port, and 3 reading lights to starboard.

Engine

  • Yanmar 30 HP engine – drive shaft transmission.
  • Engine mounting built into the inner moulding.
  • Engine compartment insulated with soundproofing foam.
  • Ventilation ensured by an air intake at the companionway level and and forced air exhaust on transom.
  • Engine access:
    • Through an opening under companionway steps supported by two gas-struts.
    • 2 side access hatches in the aft cabins for maintenance.
    • Stainless steel drive shaft with GRP protection moulded into the hull.
    • Fixed three-blade propeller.
    • 1 rotomoulded fuel tank (130 litres) with electronic gauge, located under the aft starboard berth.
    • Seawater and diesel filters and sediment reservoir.
    • Engine control panel with built-in key start in the cockpit to starboard.

Plumbing

  • Fresh water:
    • Electric water pump with expansion bottle and filter protecting the system.
    • 2 rotomoulded water tanks fixed to the hull inner moulding (130 litres beneath the port aft cabin berth + 206 litres beneath forecabin berth).
    • 2 stainless steel water fillers. Tanks are filled separately.
    • Tank selection by ¼ turn valves.
    • 1 cold water cockpit shower.
  • Drainage:
    • Electric wastewater pump for the shower.
    • 2 bilge pumps (one manual and one electric).
    • 1 dresser drainage system.
    • Self-draining cockpit and side deck drainage.
  • Hot water:
    • 1 x 25 litre electric water heater.

Electricity

  • Electrical panel:
    • 10 x 12V switches + 9 fused switches.
