‘Willie Joe’
‘Willie Joe’ is a Cygnus GM 21 which is primarily a fishing/workboat design. It started its life as a fishing boat on the coast of Suffolk, UK. The Oliver brothers purchased it from the original owner in 2009 where it was transported back to Galway. It was then stripped back to the bare hull, new deck fitted, gunwhales replaced, full repaint. In 2012 it was fitted with a new Beta Marine 43hp inboard engine, stainless steel rails and all safety equipment installed as per requirements. It is currently licenced by Dept Transport to carry 7 passengers. The original registered name was ‘Joesph William and in a good old fashioned Irish way earned the nickname ‘Willie Joe’. It has proven to be one of our most popular boats for short inshore trips and river cruises around Galway Harbour, The Claddagh and The Spanish Arch. Ideally suited for familys and was designed with comfort and safety being a priority.
